Tithing in the Old Testament is a picture of what proper worship and proper stewardship of God's resources looks like. We believe this example guides us, but is not a mandate for the New Testament Church. We call our members to give-- not by meeting some obligatory percentage, but by gladly sacrificing for the sake of the gospel because Jesus sacrificed for us... and all we have is His!
We believe In:
Giving willingly and generously (2 Cor. 8:3-5; 10-11; 9:7; Gal. 6:9).
Giving strategically (2 Cor. 9:12-15; 1 Timothy 3:15b; 5:17, 18).
Giving regularly/systematically (1 Cor.16:2).
Giving proportionately and sacrificially (1 Cor. 16:2; 2 Cor.8:11-12)
Reasonable church plant strategy says, “plant churches in the fastest growing cities, in the fastest growing neighborhoods, amongst people who can financially carry a ministry.” We have been called to a neighborhood that is the exact opposite. Some fill their churches and budgets with preaching that “tickles the ear” but we are convinced, by God’s word, that this is not an option.
We intend to partner with churches and individuals who desire to see Christ’s kingdom advance-- in spite of difficult circumstances! We trust that God is bigger than the obstacles we face and look forward to how He will bind you and us together, so that we will realize our vision. We are seeking outside support for a total of 7 years. Our goal is to decrease the yearly outside support goal by 20% after 3 years and 40% after 5 years. Will you help us?
